The mesh inner lining will also help with support so that you will not need to use equipment that would hinder your run or cause discomfort like underwear or a jock strap.

You should also look into the length of the shorts when choosing a pair of running shorts. The length of the shorts can often be decided by your own preference, but you can also choose a length based on your specific needs. For example, if your thighs rub together when you run, it would be a good idea to go with longer shorts to reduce chaffing. However, shorter shorts have been known to increase freedom of movement when compared with the longer shorts.

The last thing to make sure your running short has is a small pocket. Many running shorts are equipped with these small pockets that are the perfect size for a key and a credit card. This will help so that you do not need to carry things in your hands or in a backpack. Make sure the pockets are sewn close to the waistband to reduce bouncing.
