bicycle shorts question.?
Ive just started riding a bike again (in a long time) and wanted to get a good pair of padded shorts to help with saddle soreness. Does any one know the price range i should be going for? Halfords have a pair of unisex shorts for £12.99 with padding. would these be the worst ones? I will be riding around 2hours 19mins (actual riding time 2 hours) and the distance is 14miles. As time goes on i hope to shorten the time as i get faster. So..any one know?

these ones. Im a medium but alot of sites say go one size bigger.

Because it is soooo very important, I never buy my shorts on line. If I can see and touch or feel them I won’t buy them. Manufacturers have several different styles, all with different weight padding. Go to a local bike shop and see and feel the pair that you are entrusting your ‘vitals’ to.
Last week I was at a lcl bike shop. The genera; ‘no name’ shorts they had on the rack for $45 were as good as the ‘name brand’ pairs they had on the racks next to them for over twice that price! You know I got two new pairs for less than the cost of one!
Yes your time will improve. Concentrate on ’spinning’ and shifting to maintain your cadence and pedal pressure. Your speed will dramatically increase in a short time. If you do not know what spinning is, use this forum, or look up on line.
